CHAIRMAN - Richard Ogilvy FICFor

Richard is a founding director of Elite Trees, formed by Fountain Forestry in 1980 to produce Improved Sitka Spruce transplants for their investment clients. In 1988 he took Elite Trees into his personal ownership, leading to the acquisition of T & W Christie in 1994 to form Christie-Elite. After relinquishing his executive role to become an independent consultant, he remains as company chairman.

MANAGING DIRECTOR - Matt Hommel MSc MICFor

Matt was appointed as Managing Director at Christie Elite Nurseries in July 2009 replacing Derek MacDonald. A professional member of the Institute of Chartered Foresters, Matt has previously held forest management positions with UPM-Tilhill North Highland and the The Crown Estate, Glenlivet, through Smiths Gore and worked as Managing Director of TM Forestry Ltd.

FINANCE MANAGER - Keith Shorten MA (Hons)

Keith joined Christie-Elite in January 2011 and has over 20 years experience in accountant & analyst roles within the electronics and construction sectors.

Keith re-located from Fife 6 years ago and is a keen hill-walker and mountain biker.

NURSERY MANAGER - Brian McCamon

Brian started with Christie-Elite when the company was based at Bogallan, on the Black Isle. A professional nurseryman, Brian has been growing trees for over twenty five years.

Brian manages all aspects of production from sowing to sale.

NURSERY ASSISTANT - Graeme Neep Mackenzie

Graeme joined the nursery February 2011 on graduate placement and now assists Brian with tree production. Prior to moving to the area Graeme studied environmental science at the University of Brighton after having worked in the hospitality industry for 8 years; a lifelong love of trees and the natural world sparked the career change. When not at the nurseries, Graeme can generally be found at the top of a hill or working under a car.

ADMINISTRATOR - Maureen McKenzie

Maureen started with the company in June 2008. She worked in the care industry for 6 years before returning to college to do an HNC in Administration and information technology. Maureen enjoys watching football and is a committee member of Elgin city Supporters club. In her spare time she enjoys Swimming and Cycling. Maureen moved into the position of Administrator in 2009

GROWMASTER ADMINISTRATOR - Karen Garner

Karen started with Christie-Elite in 2009 prior to which she has worked in many establishments from art galleries to secretarial work with international oil companies in London. Karen comes from a gardening design background and ran her own successful design business in Surrey. Karen has lived in both the UK and abroad and in her spare time enjoys creative hobbies such as water colours, restoring old furniture and for re charging after a day at Christie-Elite, tai chi, yoga and meditation!
