Wild Apple (Malus sylvestris)
The wild apple can be grown in a hedgerow or makes a nice tree for a cottage garden with its uneven growing habit. The fruit, while too bitter to eat off the tree can be made into a jelly and the trees are often used to pollinate cultivated apples in an orchard.
